Brother Jonah Levenston Bell Sr,66, born in Madisonville Ky transitioned to eternity on July 10, 2021, at 10:28 p.m. at his residence. He was born July 1, 1955, in Madisonville Kentucky to the late Clara Louis Glover and the late Arizona Bell.
Jonah accepted Christ at an early age and attended Eastview Missionary Baptist Church but later became a Deacon at Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.
His formal education was at Madisonville North Hopkins where he excelled in track and field. He later went to Eastern Kentucky University. In 1976 he joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1980. He had been employed at Browning Chevrolet as an auto salesman.
In addition to his parents, Jonah was preceded in death by his sister, Faye Clardy, and brother, Jerome Matchem.
Jonah is survived by 3 sons: Kevin Chamber of Milwaukee, WI, Jonah Bell Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, Eric Hunter of Madisonville, KY; 3 daughters: Jameaka Thomas, Chanel Bell, and Chantel Bell all of Madisonville, KY.
Along with his children, Jonah leaves to cherish his memories, two brothers: James Jones of Cincinnati, OH, William Sharp of Terre Haute, IN; one sister: Myra Irvin of Mauldin, SC.; 17 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
