Jimmie Wooldridge Gill, 83, of Madisonville, KY, departed this life on June 4, 2023. He was born in Earlington, KY, on July 21, 1939. Jimmie was the youngest of four children born to the late Oscar Thomas Gill and Alice Eugene Gill.
After graduating from J. W. Million High School in 1957, Jimmie enlisted in the U.S. Airforce, where he served until retirement. While serving in the Netherlands, Holland, he met and married Lisa Baetsen, and to that union, two boys and one girl were born. When Jimmie retired from the Airforce, he returned home to his roots. Having a genuine outgoing personality throughout his retirement, Jimmie developed many lasting and memorable relationships and friendships that were multi-generational in scope as he was a person who never met a stranger.
Jimmie also had a great love for pets, especially dogs and cats. Jimmie’s physical presence will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. May we all be consoled in the hope that the loss of Jimmie’s presence from among us will be to the gain of God’s praise and glory.
Jimmie served joyfully at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, on the Usher Board, and Brotherhood, Male Chorus, and occasionally taught mid-week bible study.
In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by a sister: Marion E. Gill, and brother: Dale Thomas Gill, Sr.
