Jettie J. Avent was born to the union of the late Willie James Avent, Sr., and Geneva Jones Wade in Mayfield, Kentucky, on October 13, 1969. She was called to eternal rest on September 20, 2024.
She graduated from Graves Co. High School in 1989. After graduating from Business School, she worked for years at several boys' and girls' group homes, Lowes, and was employed at Fern Terrace Lodge when her health failed.
She was converted at an early age and joined St. James AME Church, Pryorsburg, where she was a choir member and served on the culinary committee; she was currently affiliated with St. James AME, Mayfield.
Jettie loved to cook and was the moderator of the Food Gawd on social media. She was a kind, loving, caring person, who lived a life filled with passion; and she loved going on cruises with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Maia Bussell, a brother, Dion Jones, and grandparents, John and Mary Avent and Waymon and Jettie Jones.
“T.T”, as she was affectionately called leaves to cherish her memory two brothers, Willard (Shawn) Jones and Willie James (Melanie) Avent, Jr; stepbrother, Jason Wade, Rutherford, TN; aunts, Dwan (Jeff) Vinson; Martin, TN & Dorothy (Charles) Randolph, Milwaukee, Percy (Jeanette) Avent, & John (Avis Brooks) Avent, all, of So. Fulton, TN; Robert Avent, and Bobby Avent, both of Chandler, AZ; Joey (Frauke) Avent, Lexington, SC; Ridley (Angela) Jones, Englewood, OH; Eddie (Tammy) Wade, Milan, TN; one niece, Emmy Jones and three nephews, Myles Avent, Quintint Jones, and Javonhnte Jones; a great nephew, Javonhnte Jones, Jr.; a host of cousins, friends, and acquaintances; god-mother, Ann Whitaker.
