Jeffrey A. Johnson affectionately known as “J.J” was born March 7, 1945 in Henderson, Kentucky to the late Virginia (McGuire) Cosby and James E. Johnson. He was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at the age of 72. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Seventh Street Baptist where he served on the Senior Usher Board until his illness.
Jeffrey graduated from Douglas High School in 1963. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his service, he received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and a Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Jeffrey was an excellent provider. He retired from Temple-Inland Company after 39 years of loyal service. Jeffrey was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, cousin, and friend. He loved his family very much. He also loved all sports especially basketball. He will always be remembered for his good heart and easy-going spirit.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 28 years, Patricia, three daughters Denise (Alfred) Johnson-Kincaid, Gloria (Ocie) Merchant and Rochelle (Kenny) Mundy.
Grandchildren, Amani & Aman Kincaid, Kenny Mundy, Tamiki Fairley, Latosha Harrison, Willard Fairley Jr. ; great-grandchildren Ashley, Bobby, Quavez, Adrian, Sharayvia, Anissa, Maliyah, and Bishop and a host of cousins and special friends.
