Jawanta Shakeem Lindsey, 29, transitioned to his eternal home on January 5, 2025, surrounded by the comfort of his own space. Born on October 9, 1995, in Evansville, Indiana, he was the cherished son of the late Michelle R. Lindsey.

During his formative years, he spent time in Columbus, Georgia, sharing a loving relationship with his Uncle Randall “Boosie” and Aunt Demetri Kimbrew. He later returned to Evansville, where he excelled academically and proudly graduated from Central High School at the top of his class. Jawanta embraced various job opportunities over the years, allowing him to forge meaningful friendships along the way.

Known affectionately as the “Gentle Giant,” Jawanta's radiant smile brought joy and light to all around him. He was passionate about capturing memories through photography and videos with his loved ones, sharing these moments on his YouTube channel. A devoted member of The River Church, he cherished the time spent with his family and enjoyed gathering with coworkers to unwind after a long day.

Jawanta is lovingly remembered by his grandmother, Nancy “Honey” Johnson; his sisters, Abrya Lindsey, Myesha Wisdom, Mar’Shai Wisdom, Jamesha Elbert, and Mercedez Hastie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who filled his life with joy. He is also survived by a supportive network of aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Selisa Johnson, Hester Kimbrew, Jawan Lindsey (Untra), Ray Carter (Sissy), and many more.

He was preceded in death by his mother, and he now joins his Uncle Randall Kimbrew and grandfather Steve Lindsey in peace.

Jawanta will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to know him. His kind spirit, generosity, and vibrant personality left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. As he takes flight into eternal rest, he is welcomed by the loving faces of his mother and Uncle Boosie at Heaven's gates.
