James Edward Tapp, 73, of Henderson KY passed away November 18, 2016 while a resident at Woodbridge Golden Living Center. He was born September 7, 1943 to the late Mable and Marvin Tapp in Henderson. He was a member Seventh Street Baptist Church and later joined Mt. Olivet Baptist Church where he was a member of the church choir.
James was employed at Inland Container Company from where he retired. He enjoyed many great hobbies but driving and maintaining his fancy cars was his favorite. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.
James was preceded in death by his parents, the late Marvin Tapp, Sr. and Mable Tapp; one grandson, Cam’Ron Tapp; a sister, Delores Tapp Soaper; a brother, Kenneth R. Tapp, Sr.; several uncles; and a nephew.
He leaves to cherish his memory five daughters: Jametta Tapp – Bowles (Harry), Erica Tapp, Nicole Tapp, Stacy Wilhite and Barbara Rivera – all of Henderson KY; seven grandchildren – all of Henderson KY; one brother and caregiver, Marvin “Jack” (Anna Ruth) Tapp; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 1:00pm at Seventh Street Baptist Church in Henderson KY with visitation from 11:00am until service time also at the church. Mason Brothers Audubon Chapel is in charge. Condolences may be left at
