James B. Posey

James B. Posey, was born July 29, 1947 to the late James H Posey and Esterline Posey-Clark in Corydon, Kentucky. He was called home on December 19, 2016 to be with his Beloved Wife of 42 years, Marie I. Posey.

James completed his education at Douglas High and worked for Local 561 in Construction in Evansville, Indiana. He was very proud of his accomplishments. He owned and operated Posey’s BQ in Corydon, Kentucky until his health began to fail. James served as Deacon at St. Paul Baptist Church and Little Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his church and church families.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Posey; son, Kenneth Ray Posey; grandfather, Robert Posey; grandmother, Bessie Posey; father, James H. Posey; two brothers, Kenneth & Robert Posey; one sister, Rebecca McGuire.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his five children: Sandra Dixon of Henderson KY, Regina Posey of Dyersburg TN, Michelle Posey of Evansville IN, Mary Kittenger and James Posey II, both of Madisonville KY; his mother, Esterline Posey-Clark of Henderson KY; two sisters, Betty Harrigan and Shirley Posey, both of Evansville IN; 14 grandchildren: Thomas and Allen Dixon of Henderson, Sydney Schaffer, Tonaja Posey and Daniel Sweatt, Jr. - all of Evansville IN, Brendon and Willie Posey, Jarrod and Jarron Thompson, Naudia Kittenger, James B. Posey II, all of Madisonville KY and Sevyn, Tre, and Onyx Posey of Atlanta GA; three great grandchildren: Antonio Dixon of Newburgh IN, Jurrel Dixon and Janiah Hughes, both of Henderson KY; nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Services will be Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 1:00pm at Little Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson KY. Pastor Willie E. Ellis, Sr., officiating. Visitation from 11:00am until service time also at the church. Burial at Fernwood Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.masonbrothersfs.com
