James Joyce

James Marshall Joyce, 88, of Madisonville, KY entered into his eternal rest on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at his home. Born May 24, 1933 in Diamond, KY, to the late Anderson Joyce and Nannie Hall Joyce.

On August 11, 1962, he was joined in holy matrimony to Dorothy Ann Mason. From this union, two sons and one daughter were born. He was a member of Church of God in Christ City of Refuge in Providence, KY under the leadership of Elder Ira G. Hathaway. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and retired from Peabody Coal Mines.

He was preceded in death by wife: Dorothy A. Joyce; son: James A. Joyce; six brothers: Bill Joyce, Matthew Joyce, Roy Joyce, Charles Joyce, George Edward Joyce, and Doug Joyce; five sisters: Evie Kivell, Mary Price, Pauline Brown, Rosa Mae Chambers, and Izory J. Drake.

He leaves behind, son: Alan S. Joyce; daughter: Malishia (Glen) Scisney; grandchildren: Myleah and Michael Scisney all from Madisonville; brother: Ernest (Paulette) Joyce of Madisonville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
