James B. Gaither the son of Ruthie Gaither and the late Ray F. Gaither Sr. went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2017. He was born in Providence, KY on March 26, 1956. He graduated from Providence High School in 1976 and later moved to Henderson, KY to obtain employment at Audubon Park where he worked for approximately 12 years. He left Audubon Park after receiving a position with the Kentucky State Highway Department out of the Henderson County Office. He retired from there after many years of dedicated service.
James accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age. He was a member of Race Creek Baptist Church in Henderson, KY. He moved to Harrisburg, Illinois where he attended First Baptist Church. He resided there until his death. As a huge fan of the “Fighting Illini, James loved to watch their football team and basketball team on television. He loved all sports and spent many hours relaxing and watching games on his t.v.
James was preceded in death by his wife Tyjuana Rudd-Gaither; 2 brothers: Armond Rolland, Dana Gaither; 1 sister: Theresa Gaither; maternal grandparents: Priscilla Lee and Rosnal Rolland; paternal grandparents: Rosa Ligon Gaither and Charlie Gaither.
James leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Ruthie Gaither; 8 sisters: Velma Flemmings (Eugene), Rena Gaither, Rosie Gaither, Ludella Grinstead, Christie Frazier (Ray Palmer), Diana Morris, Kathy Tinsley (Sherman), and Baby Sister (Elaine) Gaither; 2 brothers: Ray Franklin Gaither (Margie) and Frank Gaither (Sharon); aunt: Norma Gaither; special friend: Thomas R. Rudd, Sr. (Tina); a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
