Jameaka Lynn Thomas, age 46, passed away on August 10 at 1:30 p.m. at Baptist Health. Jameaka was born January 23, 1975 to the late Lillian McNary Thomas and Jonah Bell, Sr. and was adopted by Gene Thomas, Sr.
Jameaka received her education in the Hopkins County School System and was a graduate of Madisonville North Hopkins High School. She also attended Heads West Beauty College. She loved being around family and friends and being outside. Anytime there was any type of gathering, she would be there. She enjoyed welcoming newborn babies into their family.
Jameaka accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Eastview Baptist Church. Later in life she joined Temple of Praise under the leadership of Pastor Ronnie Nix. She loved her church and worked wherever needed.
Jameaka worked at various convenient stores as a Customer Service Representative. She also worked at Taco Johns, Burger King, and with the youth during the summer at the Center. She loved to cook, sew, play BINGO and the lotto.
Jameaka leaves to cherish her memory her father: Gene Thomas, Sr. of Louisville, KY; son: James Gray of Providence, KY; daughter: Jameria Thomas of Madisonville, KY; sisters: Katherine Jones, Chanel Bell, Chantel Bell, Nechelle Thomas, and Nichole Wyckoff all of Madisonville ,KY; brothers: Thomas Thomas, Gene Thomas, Jr., Tennyson Thomas, and Eric Hunter all of Madisonville, KY, Kevin Chambers of Milwaukee, WI, Jonah Bell II of Atlanta, GA, and Tracy Palmer of Louisville, KY; aunts: Valeria (Tony) Bell of Indiana, Glenda Scisney, Myra Irvin; uncles: David and Lincoln Thomas all of Earlington, KY, James Jones of Ohio, and William Sharp of Indiana.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 19, 4:00 p.m. at Mason and Sons, Madisonville, KY.
