Hilda Ray Watkins, 78, transitioned her life on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her home in Madisonville, KY. She was born to the late Frank Davis, Sr. and Anna Bell Davis on April 6, 1939 in Madisonville. She married William Floyd Watkins on August 29, 1959. To this union three children were born.
Hilda professed her faith in Christ and was baptized at an early age at Eastview Missionary Baptist Church. She served faithfully on the Culinary Committee before her illness.
She attended Rosenwald High School and was the Operations Manager of Watkins Rest Home and Sr. Citizens Nursing Home. Hilda loved shopping, reading, cooking, and playing cards with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister: Barbara Davis; and three brothers: James Davis, Frank Davis, Jr., and Maurice Davis.
Hilda leaves to cherish her memories, one son: William Watkins, Jr. (Luzia) of Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters: Frances Steppe of Madisonville and Teresa Watkins of Fairbanks, Alaska; two sisters: Diane Jackson of Indianapolis, IN and Sylvia McNary of Madisonville; two sisters-in-law: Sina Davis and Gladys Davis both of Madisonville; one uncle: Bill Davis; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
