Hazel Louise Gray of Providence KY, born June 26th, 1934, in Earlington Ky to the late Wesley (Luvee) Gray & Clara Juanita Johnson, departed this Earth on November 12th, 2023, at home with her great-grandson Isaiah holding her hand.
She attended High School at Mount Vernon Township High School in Mount Vernon, Illinois. As a child, Hazel grew up in the Methodist faith. Her mother passed away when Hazel was 13. Being a daddy’s girl, Hazel has traveled and lived in numerous cities such as Detroit, Mount Vernon, Earlington & Providence Kentucky.
Hazel worked as a Healthcare Nurse for over 60 Years at various Clinics, Nursing Homes, and Hospitals. She enjoyed being employed under Doctor Cole and Doctor Cobb, at Senior Citizen Nursing Home, Outwood in Dawson Springs, Country Meadows in Providence, and Senior Companion to name a few.
Hazel is a member of the Greater Faith Miracle Temple under the pastoral direction of Prophet Aubrey W. Baker. She loved to visit Simpson Chapel C.P. Church under the leadership of Pastor Bobby Hawkins & Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Paris Johnson Sr.
Hazel is preceded in death by her son, Anthony Gray, and daughter, Pamela McReynolds; grandchildren: Skylar Baker, Wesley E Baker Jr “Tiny Tim”, Chazatie Breedlove, Tikore Scott, and Dathan Gaither.
Hazel Leaves her Legacy to her children, Anita (Wayne) Baker-Belle of Providence KY, Wesley (Christine) Baker of Evansville IN, and Aubrey Baker of Providence KY. Hazel has 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 38 great-great-grandchildren; one aunt, Nettie Bell Gray; her cousins, nieces & nephews (The Gray/Tidwell Crew), and a host of cousins & friends.
