Harvey Delynn McFarland, 59, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. He was born in Madisonville on May 24, 1962. He graduated from Madisonville North Hopkins High School where he played the drums in the marching band.
Throughout his work career, Harvey worked detailing cars, at the Perdue Poultry Plant, and at Burger King. He enjoyed hanging out with friends and family but most of all he was a big fan of North Carolina Tarheels Basketball. He loved all sports but college basketball was his favorite in addition to watching WWE Wrestling on television.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Linda McFarland Pitts, father: William Harvey McFarland; sister: Marjorie A. McFarland; grandparents: John & Goldie Baxter, Albert & Allie McFarland; nephew: Antonio Baxter.
Harvey is survived by his daughter: Ashley (Jemiah) Poindexter; 2 grandchildren: Na’kiyah Logan, Jemias Poindexter; 4 sisters: Cynthia (Jeffrey) Hughes, Regina Kay Baxter, Emily McFarland, Bobbie Faye Fairrow; 1 brother: Albert D. McFarland; aunts: Bobbie Jo (Calvin) Reeves, Pearline Baxter; and a host of nieces & nephews, cousins, and friends.
