Harris Wayne Lovelace, 62, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday March 18, 2017 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. He was born on January 10, 1955 to Jerry D. Porter and Haskell Harold Lovelace.
Harris graduated from Mayfield High School in 1973 where he played on the basketball team. Harris enlisted in the United States Army and served his country proudly. He was stationed in Panama for most of his time in the military. After he was discharged, he worked for the Mayfield Housing Authority in the Maintenance Department. He retired after working there for many years.
Harris was a distinguished and unique person who was very particular about his clothes and his cars. He was an avid gun collector and loved to watch football and basketball which were his favorite sports. His personality was such that he would help anyone that he could and he was always fun to be around making people laugh. He loved his family and he was loved by his family and friends. He was that special and dependable go to person for his niece and caregiver, Anita England, whom he loved very dearly.
In addition to his parents, Harris was preceded in death by his sister JoAnn Lovelace Yarber.
He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, one daughter: Jessica Tharpe of Murray, KY; brothers: Clovis Lovelace (Irhonda) of Paducah, KY, Dwight Lovelace (Tammy), Lee H. Lovelace (Sandra) both of Mayfield, KY; sisters: Emma House, Laura McKiver, Clarissa Yarber, Mable Doris Lovelace all of Mayfield, KY; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
