Harold E. Bailey was born December 15, 1935 in Evansville, IN to the late Robert and Thelma Bailey. At the age of 81, he passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 26, 2017.
He attended Lincoln High School. On May 17, 1958, he married the former Mary Helen Turner of Henderson, KY. They were members of Nazarene Baptist Church.
Harold was employed by Chrysler for many years and was also one of the leading car detailers in Evansville. He owned Bailey Wax and Detail Shop where he enjoyed working for over 50 years. He retired just 3 years prior to his passing.
Being an avid boater, hunter, and fisherman, he enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. and staying in numerous camp sites. He had an outstanding membership in KOA.
Harold spent several of his weekends with Field trial dogs as he was a member of the Tri-State Beagle Club. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was always there to help family and friends with carpentry projects and selling their cars.
He was preceded in death by a son: Wohn Bailey; sisters: Louise King, Connie Gee; brother: William Edward Bailey.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Mary Helen; daughter: Debra Roberson; grandchildren: Denique Rogers (Michael), Delicia Palatema (Jonathan), Wohn Bailey, Jr.; and great-grandchildren: Driona Jackson and Michael Rogers II; brother: Rev. Arthur Leon Bailey; god daughters: Tonya Daniels, Mamie Vanleer, Karen Clardy; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
