Glenda Kaye (Reynolds) Jarrett, 57, of Providence, Kentucky, transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at her home after a long battle with ALS, surrounded by her loving family.
Glenda was born August 21, 1967, to Robert and the late Yvonne Reynolds in Hopkins County. She graduated from Providence High School in 1985 and attended Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.
She started her first job at Carhartt in Providence, KY, where she worked until they closed. She went on to work at Lear in Madisonville, KY, Tyson Foods in Sebree, McDonald's in Providence, where she worked as a manager, and Tree House in Princeton, KY. She worked at Tree House until her disability forced her to retire early.
Glenda loved to cook and started her own YouTube Channel called “Kentucky Home Cooking.” In her videos, she said she loved whipping up all her many delicious recipes. She would often say that cooking was her therapy. Glenda loved taking care of her parents and being with her family and friends. She loved sitting on her parents’ front porch, enjoying the sunshine and the neighborhood camaraderie. She had never met a stranger, and she loved talking to people. Glenda had a bright smile and illuminating presence that brought so much love and kindness that touched and filled the hearts of everyone she met.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne A. Reynolds; her grandparents, Felix, and Mae Reynolds; George, Jr. and Dorothy Hopson.
She is survived by her father, Robert C. Reynolds, Sr., of Providence, KY, and her children, Kevin Reynolds of Madisonville, Kelly Reynolds (Stephanie), and Jessica Reynolds (Phillip), both of Providence; grandchildren Saniya Reynolds, Jada Parker, Branna Marvel, and Bryce Marvel; brother Robert C. Reynolds, Jr. (Alisha) of Providence; niece Brittney Reynolds; and nephews Derrick Reynolds, De Andre Reynolds (Emily), and DeVon Reynolds; four great nieces and one great nephew; uncles, Jerry Reynolds (Reda) of White Plains, KY, Elder Keith Hopson (JoAnn) of Providence; aunts, Wanda Jagoe, Marth Yancey (Royce), both of Madisonville, Ky; special aunt; Brenda Drake (Ali) of Providence; special sister/cousin, Christina Bass of Owensboro; special friend Vanessa Jones of Providence; and a host of cousins and friends.
