George Tyler Jr.

November 17, 1947 — November 17, 2022

George Tyler, Jr. 75, of Henderson, KY, transitioned from this life to his eternal resting place on his birthday, Thursday, November 17, 2022. He was born in Corydon, KY to the late George Tyler, Sr. and the late Margaret Louise Allen Tyler. After attending school in Corydon, he enlisted in the United States Army from which he was honorably discharged. He retired from Accuride where he worked for many years.

George was a faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Corydon which he supported financially and spiritually. He looked forward to attending the church services and he loved his church family and the pastor.

George was an avid fisherman and hunter who grew a garden every spring! He loved growing vegetables and especially enjoyed picking greens. He was a fan of Old School R&B music which he listened to regularly. He was a very supportive brother who loved his family. He was a giving man who would help anybody, family or not, who was in need.

In 2019, after an eleven-year relationship, George married his best friend Linda Anne Fyffe. He was a one-in-a-million husband and stepfather who helped raise Linda’s children taking them under his wing to teach them many of life’s lessons and how to be responsible adults. He had a special bond with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him great joy. His kindness was such that he gave to others and expected nothing in return.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by, sisters: Virginia Mae Tyler, Betty Ann Outlaw, Loucresia Burkins, Wanda Sue Carter; brothers: Leroy Posey, James Tyler, Mitchell Tyler.

George leaves to cherish his memory, wife: Linda Anne Tyler; children: Katherine Jill Trimble, Terrance Butts; stepchildren: Geanna Wilson, Christina Vitaioli; many grandchildren and several great grandchildren children; sisters: Margaret Louise Collins, Mary Carey; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
