George Owen Mosley

George Owen Mosley, 85, of Hecla, Kentucky peacefully departed this life on February 15, 2025. George was born on November 11, 1939, to George Washington Mosley and Geneva Edemeson Mosley. George accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church until his passing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved his family and was very compassionate, loving, and funny.

George graduated from J.W. Million High School and shortly after, enlisted in the military. After George served his time in the military, he moved to Peoria, IL and worked for Caterpillar Company for 10 years. He then moved back to Madisonville where he accepted a position with York International. Later he worked for Dana Incorporated in Henderson, KY until his retirement at which time he began a new career journey at the Madisonville Mall as a security guard. When he wasn’t working, George enjoyed cutting grass on the side.

George was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dorothy Coleman, Mary Hughes, Thomas Mosley, Sr.; and granddaughter, Deorgina Mosley.

 He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 43 years, Lottie Frances Mosley; two sons, Gregory (Denise) Mosley of Henderson, KY, Theron Pearson of Hopkinsville, KY; three daughters, Vickey Johnson of Madisonville, KY, Matresse (Derick) Mallett of Arizona, Remona (Greg) Arnett of Madisonville, KY; sibling, Faye Dickerson of Madisonville, KY; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
