Ernestine Ellis, 75, of Providence, KY wet home to be with the Lord on March 30, 2017 at Baptist Health Hospital. She was born Jan 5, 1942 to the late Owen & Birdie Frazier in Erlington, KY. She graduated from Rosenwald High School in Providence. She professed a hope in Christ Jesus the Lord at New Hope M.B. Church in Evansville, IN under the late Rev. W.R. Brown, Sr. While a there she was a member of the choir.
Ernestine married Rev. Walter Ellis who was called to pastor Little Flock M.B. Church in Nebo, Ky. Being a faithful wife, she moved her membership to that church to support her husband’s ministry. There she was a member of the choir, Sunday School clerk, and kitchen coordinator.
Ernestine was a wonderful homemaker who took care of her husband and her children and doted on all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son: Minister Marvin Troy Ellis.
Ernestine leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 51 years Rev. Walter Ellis; two daughters: Lutersa Rena Radford (Darnel) of Madisonville, KY, Shonetta Drone (Kevin) of Houston, TX; one step-daughter: Sherri Don Starks (Wesley); five sons: Lester Watson of Murray, KY, Tony Watson of Madisonville, Lawrence Ellis of Evansville, Timothy Ellis of Providence, Alex Terrell Ellis of Madisonville; one sister: Delois Woolfolk (Jimmy) of Providence; 35 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services are Wednesday April 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Cumberland Hills Cemetery. Mason & Sons Funeral Home is entrusted with final arrangements. Leave condolences at
