Rev. Emrich Tyler, Jr. was born in Evansville, IN on September 4, 1930 to the
late Emrich, Sr. & Lucille Tyler. He departed this life on November 25, 2015.
Rev. Tyler was saved under the pastorage of Bishop James Cooksey.
He would pastor churches in Evansville, IN (Pentecostal Temple & New Bethel
Baptist Church) and Vincennes, IN. He was Associate Pastor at Fellowship Baptist
Church and part of the Ministerial Staff at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Rev. Tyler preached the gospel for over 54 years.
Rev. Tyler & his wife, Fannie, were parents to not only their 7 children, but
their love and concern for others was evident by the many many foster children
they so lovingly welcomed into their home.
Rev. Tyler was employed with Whirlpool Corporation and Signal Trucking Company,
from which he retired. He also had a lawn service (Tyler’s Lawn Service) for
many years.
Rev. Tyler loved God and his family. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Fannie; his daughter, Patricia
(Tyler) Chapman; his parents; sisters, Dorothy Wright & Lena Edwards; brothers,
Norman, John & Donald Tyler.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted caregivers, his son and wife, Jerry
and Sheila Tyler; sons: Charles, Leonard (Flora), Dwight (Miranda); daughters:
Penelope Scott & Mary Woolfolk, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, foster
children; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
