Elsie Lee Eaves

Elsie Lee Eaves was born August 30, 1928, in Crofton, to the late Martin and 
Pearl Snorton. Elsie departed this life on Jan. 11, 2024, at the Paragon of 
Madisonville surrounded by her children. 

She married James T. Eaves in 1947, and they spent 49 years together before 
his death in 1996. During their union, they adopted two children Gwendolyn 
Louise Eaves (1961) and Michael Thomas Eaves (1972).  Elsie joined Princeton Street Baptist Church in Crofton, KY at a young age, 
and was a generous supporter and frequent attendee until her passing. She spent 
more than 25 years as a caseworker for the Kentucky Cabinet for Social Services 

In addition to her parents and husband, Elsie is preceded in death by her 
sister, Bonnell Ellis, and her brothers, Sturlin Snorton, Reginald Snorton, 
Ozell Snorton, and Grover Snorton. 

She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn, her son, Michael, and his wife, 
Crystal, and a host of nieces and nephews.
