Elizabeth Ann Haskins, 86, transitioned to her heavenly home on Nov 1,2024 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. She was affectionally known as Liz, Aunt Liz or Maw Maw to her family and friends.
Elizabeth was born on April 15, 1938, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to Laura Forbes Pate and Jacob Forbes. She attended O.R. Park Grammar School and graduated from Rocky Mount High School. She worked at a local hospital for a year and then enlisted in the Women’s Air Force. Upon moving to Evansville with her family after several military relocations, Elizabeth graduated from Lockyear College in 1976. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend; known for her kindness, generosity and love of the Lord.
Elizabeth retired from the Evansville Health Department where she worked for the W.I.C. Program at their clinic for almost 30 years. She was a faithful member of Nazarene Baptist Church for 51 years where she sang in the choir, attended Sunday school, precept bible study, and was a member of the Mothers Board. She enjoyed socializing, cooking, spending time with her family, gardening, traveling, and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her daughter (Pam Haskins); parents and siblings, Mary Roberts, Edna Willis, Hattie Ann Braswell, Jacob (Bro) Forbes, John Russell Forbes and David Roberts.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Paul E. Haskins; her children, Paula and Karl Haskins; grandson, Landon Haskins-Bennett; sibling, Charlotte Deskin; a host of nieces, nephews, in -laws, and god-children; a special childhood friend Annette Xavier, along with extended family members of the Thomas and Turner family: Bobby, Janay, Justin, Gilda, Jayden, Jashaun, Jamir and Karsen.
