Elder Nora Jane Parker went to her eternal home on November 12,2021. She was born to Buck and Mae Farley Markey on February 24, 1935 in Crittenden County, KY.
Elder Nora Jane gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a lifelong member of Simpson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Providence. She was also on the Mothers’ Board. Elder Nora Jane was a faithful servant to her church and God.
Elder Nora Jane loved spending time with her family and her church family. She enjoyed cooking, especially making her famous caramel cake She was affectionately known throughout Providence as “Ms. Nora Jane”.
Elder Nora Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Bennie Parker; two sons: Stephon and Spencer Parker; daughter: Patricia Parker Coleman; three brothers; one sister; and two granddaughters: Carson Jane and Eleese Parker.
Elder Nora Jane leaves to celebrate and cherish her memory daughters: Angela Parker and Greta Parker; sons: Bishop Eric Parker (Tammy), and Michael Shay Parker; sisters-in-law: Betty Markey of Indianapolis and Virginia Reed of South Bend; two special grandchildren: Bobby Parker and Aundrea Parker; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Private service will be on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 2:00 at Simpson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Providence. Friends may call from noon until service time. Mason and Sons have been entrusted with the service.
