Edith Ann Suggs

April 16, 1949 — February 4, 2022

Edith Ann Suggs, 72, transitioned from Earth to Eternity on February 4, 2022, at Deaconess Hospital in Henderson. She was born in Evansville, IN to the late Edward Suggs, Sr. and Freddie Suggs. She graduated from high school and went on to attend Vocational School. Many of her friends called her “E” or “E-Girl”. Edith was an Executive Secretary for the State of Kentucky in the Social Services & Juvenile Justice Departments for over 30 years.
She was a member of Little Canaan Baptist Church and was a volunteer for Henderson Christian Outreach. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by a sister Carletta Suggs.
Edith is survived by her children: April (Michael) Thomas, Paul Suggs, Waylan Suggs all of Henderson; grandchildren: C. Jordan Smith, Michael (Sydney) Thomas, Elijah Suggs all of Henderson; siblings: Ruben McNeal Fields of Evansville, Edward (Jewell) Suggs, Jr., and Donald (Mercedes) Suggs both of Henderson; Margaret (Lawrence) Harris of Gary, IN, Barbara Suggs, LaVonda Freeman both of Henderson; special nephew: Devin Suggs; and a host of other family and friends.
