Dora Lou Brown of Earlington, KY entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022. She was born on January 20, 1939, to the late James and Robin Mann in Webster County, KY.
Dora was a 1957 graduate of J.W. Million High School and a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Earlington, KY, where she served in the Culinary Arts Department, Cleo Taylor, Circle #1 Mission, and Senior Choir, and also a member of the social club Ladies of Progress, until her failing health.
Dora was known to her family and friends as Aunt Dora, Bird, Lou Lou, G Momma, Dora Lou, and Ms. Dora. To know her is to love her. Everyone who rode or walked past her home in “The Bottom”, knew her to be sitting on the front porch waving and speaking to everyone who passed by. She never met a stranger and loved her family gatherings. In her pastime, Dora loved to cook, go fishing, play the card game Deuces, and scratch her Crazy 8’s lottery tickets.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Leon; children: Bonita and Charles Brown; brothers: Louis T. Thomas, and Jimmie Mann; also several aunts and uncles.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her children, three daughters: Edith Mann of Earlington, KY, Karen and Starlin Brown of Louisville, KY; one son: Brian Brown of Louisville, KY; thirteen grandkids: LaKrystal, Craig, Perry “Preacher”, Terry “Buck”, LaKendra, Adrian, Brian, Jr., Blair, Deja, Darius, Tyre, Brandon, and Michael “Mike Mike”; twenty great-grandkids; four sisters: Annette Mann Rudolph, Beverly Mann, Pernell Eaves (Charles) all of Earlington, KY, Kathy McClellan of Madisonville, KY; a special family friend: Yvonne White of Earlington, KY, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
