Dontae L. Barnes Sr.

Dontae L. Barnes, Sr. was born June 6, 1980 to Donna Barnes and Trevor Parks, Sr. He departed this life on January 30, 2017 at the age of 36. Dontae was a graduate of Henderson County High School. He loved basketball and especially enjoyed watching NBA and College basketball on TV. Dontae also loved music and would often listen to all types. He owned an old-school car because he always had a special affinity for them.
Dontae had a heart of gold and he had so much love for his sons, family, and friends. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his sons; take them somewhere or just hang out with them.
When Dontae saw people in need, he would help. He mentored several young boys and girls in the Tri-state area to keep them out of trouble and on the right path. He was a great inspiration to all that met him.
Dontae leaves to cherish his memory his fiancee of 7 years: Chemicka Norman; 2 sons: Dontae L. Barnes, Jr., De’ Arvai L. Barnes; step-son: D’Najion Baker; mother: Donna M. Barnes; father: Trevor Parks, Sr.; brothers: Timothus Barnes, Ellison Barnes and other brothers and sisters in Chicago, Ill. grandparents: Willie M. Ballard and James M. Ballard; aunts: Tonet Ballard, Telly Leatherman, Bonanza Leatherman; Uncles: Dana Ballard, Timothy Ballard; Great Uncle: Chester McCray; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
