Donna Grissett

September 14, 1963 — August 28, 2024

Louisville, KY

Donna Johnson Grissett was born in 1963 in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Berlin Johnson and Annie Henderson in Nashville, TN.

Donna graduated in 1981 from William Henry Harrison High School in Evansville, Indiana. Known for her patience, compassion, and kindness, Donna lived out her purpose as a caregiver, serving for over 35 years as a Certified Nurse's Aide to countless residents in long-term care facilities in Evansville. In 2021, she moved to Louisville, Kentucky, to live with her daughter, Monisha. Donna continued her dedicated work ethic as a Production Assembler at the Ford Motor Company Kentucky Truck Plant until taking medical leave in early 2024.

A member of Memorial Baptist Church in Evansville for nearly 20 years, Donna’s life was filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family and friends. She found joy in bingo, dancing, visiting the casino, and cherishing time with her dear friend, Marlene Crenshaw. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with her children, Nedra, Monisha, and Ryan, and was affectionately known as "Nanna" to her 12 grandchildren and great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Grissett, and siblings, Anthony, Stephanie, Rosa, and Tracy.

Donna leaves behind her loving children, Nedra Braden, Monisha Bailey-Harris, and Ryan Bailey; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her brother, Alonzo (Stephanie) Johnson; her sisters, Yolonda (Bobby) Doss, Pamela Johnson, Ramona Johnson, and Stacy Sutton; her dearest friend, Marlene Crenshaw; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever hold her memory close.
