Don Robert Martin, age 60, of Earlington, Kentucky, passed away from his earthly body to his spiritual body on September 8, 2015 in his home. He was born on August 11, 1955 to the late William “Billy” Martin and the late Hattie Smith in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.
Don accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Eastview Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville, Kentucky where he sang in the choir before his health began to fail.
Don received his education from Central City Public Schools.
He was united with the GRAND LODGE OF PERFECTION A.F. & A.M. in Los Angeles, CA where he earned the 33°. Brother Don Martin was a member of Temperance Chapter No. 61 Order of the Eastern Star, A.F. & A.M. of the California Jurisdiction. Don was a Nobel of the Ancient Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine and a member of the Palestine Lodge No. 1 of Los Angeles, CA. Illustrious Don R. Martin was a Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret of the 32nd degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. Don Martin passed the degree of Fellow Craft and was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason.
Don was also a member of the United States Army where he served as a medical assistant from 1974-1976.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Deborah Legg and one brother, William “Tony” Martin.
Don leaves to mourn his passing, two daughters: Vanessa (Richard) Greenlee of Toledo OH and Latassa Mitchell of Madisonville KY; three sisters: Helen (James) Davis of Owensboro KY, Tabetha Wright of Nashville TN, and Stephanie Smith of Owensboro KY; one brother, Charles McHenry of Owensboro KY; grandchildren: Aleejha Mitchell, Alaajha Mosby, Aliijha Mosby, Aethan F-Mitchell, Jadah Gillespie, and Tylan Mann; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
