Dolores LaSalle White was born December 6, 1933 in Drakesboro, Kentucky to the late Willie Smith and Mary Louise Smith. She departed this life on October 10, 2019.
She professed a love of Christ at an early age. She was a member St. James Baptist Church. Later she united with Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Douglas F. Smith. She was an active member of the church serving on the Usher Board and as a member of the Mother’s Guild.
She was wed to James William White, Sr. for 48 years before his death. To this union eight children born.
She was a retiree of Deaconess Hospital, retiring after 29 years of service. She loved God, her family and her church. She enjoyed reading, shopping and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Lindel Smith; her son James William White, Jr., a granddaughter, and a niece. She leaves to cherish her memory six daughters; Denita Granger (Tyrone), Indianapolis, IN; Paula Simpson, Vanessa White, Cynthia White, Alisa Haskins, and Shari Watkins (Dwight) all of Evansville, IN; a son; Bradley White (Trudie), Brentwood, TN; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, a mother in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
