Divarious Devonta Rockmore, 25, went home to be with the Lord on Friday Dec. 1, 2017 at 4:30 a.m. Everyone knew him as “DeDe”. He was born in Cleveland, Mississippi to Sharnell Rockmore and Earl Beans, but has lived in Evansville for 24 yrs. He was adopted by James Lee Jones, Sr. who helped raise him along with his mother. Luscious Lloyd was also a father to DeDe.
He attended school in the Evansville Vanderburgh County School System. DeDe enjoyed church and attended many of them throughout his life, but, his all-time favorite church was Memorial Baptist Church in Evansville. He loved and admired Rev. Brooks and Mr. Fred. In his leisure time, he loved to watch football and basketball with friends and family, but most of all he enjoyed time with his brothers.
DeDe is preceded in death by his grandfather, David Lee Rockmore, Jr. who passed just two days before him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beautiful daughter whom he adored and admired: Bella Rockmore; parents: James Jones, Sr., Sharnell Rockmore-Miller, Luscious Loyd, Sr.; sisters: LaQuondria Lloyd, La’Kiyah Lloyd, Zephaniah Jones, Monique Beans; brother: James Jones, Jr.; grandmothers: Wanda Rockmore, Shirley Rockmore, Darla Jones; 2 special little girls: Kemora Smith, Amore’ Hawkins; a wonderful godmother: Alisha Parson; god-brother: Antwon Daniels; god-sisters: Candace James, Aqui Robinson, Keosha Madison; He is also survived by his nephew who knew him as nothing but a father: De’Khilen Lloyd; girlfriend: Unique Carter; a graceful mother-in-law: Chante Collier, a host of uncles, aunts and cousins; special brothers: Jevarious Rockmore, Kyle Kirkwood, Don Bryant in addition to lots of close friends who were like brothers and sisters.
