With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Debra McNary, born on June 23, 1961, to Charles E. Arnett, Sr., and Wilda Mae McNary Arnett in Madisonville. On March 12, 2025, she peacefully returned to the embrace of the Lord, leaving behind a legacy woven with love and cherished memories.
A dedicated student, Debra traversed the halls of Madisonville North Hopkins before attaining her GED, a testament to her resilience and determination, who grew up in Rolling Acres among great people who loved her. From an early age, she embraced her faith, accepting Christ and receiving baptism at the Lively Stone Baptist Church—a cornerstone of her spiritual journey.
Debra possessed a creative spirit. She nurtured her talents as a hair stylist, where she found joy in revealing the beauty of others. Her vibrant hobbies—scrapbooking, cooking, and even playing cards—blossomed her personality. She was an avid fisherwoman, relishing moments spent by the water's edge, casting lines and cultivating dreams. As each holiday approached, she transformed her home into a tapestry of festive cheer, reflecting her boundless joy for family gatherings.
Yet, amid her numerous passions, Debra’s most significant treasure was the time she dedicated to her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and laughter.
In addition to her father, Debra was preceded in death by her son, James Arnett; her sister, Wanda Arnett; and her brother, Charles Arnett, Jr.
Debra leaves behind a loving family eager to cherish her memory: her daughter, Candice Arnett; her son, Bobby Arnett (Kemma Johnson); her devoted mother, Wilda Arnett; and her siblings, Greg (Ramona) Arnett, Billie Arnett, and Sheril Arnett. Her legacy persists in the hearts of her grandchildren—Jayden Gray, Jada Arnett, Juy’ana Arnett, Joy'ana Arnett, Atrayius Arnett, Atrayia Arnett, and Atrayvion Arnett—along with her great-grandchild, Jatavion Bruton, and a host of other relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit endures in the love she fostered, the lives she touched, and the memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those she cherished.
