David Wiley, 68, passed December 2, 2019 St. Vincent Hospital Evansville. He was born in Covington, VA to the late Chester Wiley, Sr. & Emma Wallace Wiley. He attended Earle C. Clements Job Corps. He was a loving soul and when you met him, you had a friend for life. David was always willing to do anything for anyone. In the early 2000’s, David moved from Roanoke, Virginia to the Evansville area to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He joined Independence Baptist Church where he sometimes played the piano. David was a cook at Shoneys and did various odd jobs until he was no longer able to work. David loved to cook for his family and others, sing gospel music and play the organ in church. He also enjoyed attending services at Little Caanan Baptist Church with his daughter in law.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by two granddaughters: Mya Carter and Massiah Washington.
Survived by children: Adgreana Hamm (Donald), David Wiley, Jr. (Darisil), Chad Johnson; grandchildren: Ka’Shia (Reggie), Morgan, Devon, Tiara, Marcellus; siblings: Chester Wiley, Jr. (Laverne), Steven Wiley (Elouise), Walter Wiley (Julie), Carolyn Holloway; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and a special friend “Queenie”.
