David Earl Hopson

David Earl Hopson was born on March 16, 1955, to the union of George and Dorothy Hopson in Providence, KY.  David accepted Christ as his personal savior and gave praise to God for the many battles He brought him through.  He graduated from Providence High School in 1973.  He worked for Carhartt Factory in Providence for many years.  In 1978, David married the love of his life, Denise.   To their union, 2 children were born.   

 

David was a huge fan of the game of basketball and loved the Kentucky Wildcats.  He also loved listening to music and most of all spending time with his family.  David departed this life on Sunday, February 25, 2024. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George, Jr. and Dorothy Hopson; brother George Hopson III, sisters, Dorothy Bass, Yvonne Reynolds, Maevella Hopson; nephews, Tony Hutcherson, Wayne Reynolds; niece, Kimberly Hopson; great nephew, Mitchell McElroy, Jr.; sister and brother-in-Law, Retia and James Copeland.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Denise Hopson of Providence; two sons, Jeremy (Shanna) Baynham, David Hopson, Jr. of Providence; daughter, Jennifer (Shaun) Boyd of Providence; grandson, Daniel Baynham; granddaughter, Shekinah Baynham of Providence; brother, Elder Keith (JoAnn) Hopson of Providence; sister, Brenda (Ali) Drake of Providence; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
