David Burton, age 66, who died September 10, 2015, was born to Alex Burton and Catherine Clardy Burton on May 29th in 1949 in Evansville, Indiana. He was educated in the Vanderburgh County School Corporation and graduated at Central High School in 1968.
He was a diesel mechanic by trade and worked for many years. He later became employed with Gamco before retiring.
His father and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins have preceded him in death.
David Burton was an amazing man. He was a good, kind, and caring man. He was a man of his word. His hobbies included riding his bike and tinkering around in the yard. He enjoyed being with family and friends at backyard gatherings with good music, good food, and good fun. He was an avid fan of music and collected albums, records, tapes, and discs his whole life. He was an avid movie fan too! All these things and more brought him joy!
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Irene Elizabeth Burton - they have been together forty-one years; his children: David Ray Burton (Sharron), Diane Burton, Tresa Rucker (Myron), Edgreana Hamm (Donald), Melissa Burton, David Wiley (Darcel), and Vivian Burton; his mother, Catherine Clardy Burton; brother, Ricky Burton (Lana); two nephews, Marcus and Alexander Burton; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Mattie Gant and her sisters, Ervenia and Pearline Gant; many surviving cousins; special friends: Tyrone Young, Hugh Crowe, Eugene Hatchett, and Robert Gant.
