Courtney Dixon, Jr. 74, of Evansville, Indiana passed away at University Nursing on February 12, 2024.   He was born in Henderson, KY on November 11, 1949 to Elodia and Courtney Sr.

Courtney moved to Evansville where he graduated from Bosse High School.  He worked 2 jobs in his lifetime – Jerry’s Market and Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation.  He enjoyed riding his bicycle around town, attending wrestling matches, and watching sports on television. Courtney enjoyed eating, which was a hobby for him.  He would call for his order of two chicken wings to be picked up or he would stop at Casey’s after his appointments to pick up his own.  Mr. Courtney was spoiled rotten by his family at University Nursing.  They would also get that finger pointed when things went left.  He also liked to ask about his grandchildren.

Being a Baptist was very important to him.  He would tell you how much he trusted you. He was always willing to help others and lend a hand, but God had plans for Courtney and called him home.  His favorite saying was “Trust In God” with that smile.

He was preceded in death by his daughter: Elodia Marie Dixon; father: Courtney Dixon Sr., ; stepfather: Maurice Coates; and grandmother: Lucille Walker.

Left to cherish his memory is son: Courtney Dixon III; daughter: Ann Parker (Donnie); mother: Elodia Parchman (Martin); stepfather: John Martin; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
