Clarence “Buzzy” Orton was born on May 25, 1952, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late Willene Banks and Efton Orton. He peacefully departed from this life on January 25, 2025.
Clarence attended school in Henderson and honorably served in the United States Army for two years. After returning home, he dedicated many years to his work at Sonoco Products until his retirement.
In 1972, he married Glendora Johnson, and together they welcomed two children: Clarence A. Orton, Jr. and Janelle Racquel Orton, who sadly predeceased him. In 1994, Clarence married Pamela Johnson, and they shared 21 cherished years of marriage before her passing.
A man of deep faith, Clarence accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and became an active member of The Greater Norris Chapel Baptist Church, pastored by the late Rev. Austin Bell. He found joy in cooking and watching television, and he remained involved with his church community until his health declined.
He is lovingly remembered by his son, Clarence Jr.; his sister, Mae Adams; his brother, Matthew Orton; his sister-cousin, Priscilla McClure; and a large family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Though Clarence “Buzzy” is no longer with us, he will forever live in our hearts. As it is written, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." (Psalm 30:5)
