Clara Bell Smith Williams, 84, of Madisonville passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville. She was born September 12, 1930, in Madisonville, the daughter of the late James Roy Smith, Sr., and the late Mary Noel Smith.
She was a member and elder of Christ Church Holiness.. She worked for several years for Supreme Life Insurance Company, and Outwood/Excepticon Hospital. She was a past president of the Madisonville Chapter of the NAACP.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Nathaniel Lee, James Roy, Jr., David Aaron, Naomi, Madie Lee, Willar Jean Smith Rawls, and Thomas Lee.
She is survived by her son, Charles (Terry) Williams, Jr., of Louisville, KY; her daughter, LaRita (Hubert) Peacock, of Woodbridge, VA; two grandsons, Charles (Jennifer) Williams, III, of Decatur, GA, and William (Andrea) Peacock of Woodbridge, VA; two step-granddaughters, Courtney Weaver of Minneapolis, MN, and Monniquer (Alvin) McCaskill of Fort Washington, MD; three great-grandchildren, Olivia and Langston of Decatur, GA, and Andre of Woodbridge, VA; four step-great- grandchildren, Monniquer, Mauriel, Levard, and Amaree of Fort Washington, MD; a special nephew, D'Aaron (Angie) Smith of Madisonville; a special niece, Shirley Rawls of Louisville, KY; beloved cousin and caregiver, Delores Thompson of Madisonville; beloved cousins, Martha Moore of Nashville, TN, and Rush Noel and Phillip Noel of Madisonville; caregiver Rose Reynolds of Madisonville; and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, at Christ Church Holiness in Madisonville. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Burial at Elliott Memorial Gardens. Mason & Sons Funeral Home , 409 E. Noel Ave., Madisonville, is in charge of arrangements.
