Chester Hatchett, Jr. was born on November 6, 1953 in Henderson, KY to the late Rev. Chester and Charlesetta Hatchett. Chester graduated from Henderson City High School. After working several jobs, he completed the Indiana Laborers Training and became a construction worker with Local #561. He was a great provider to his wife and daughter. He also enjoyed doing any kind of work outdoors.
Chester was a life-time member of New Race Creek Baptist Church where his father was the pastor for many years.
“Bones”, as he was affectionately known, never met a stranger and was always doing or saying something funny. He brought laughter to everyone and he was noted to stand strong in his beliefs. He was an awesome swimmer who displayed his strong determination in swimming across the Ohio River. WOW!
In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by brother, Archie C. Hatchett and sister, Arsa C. Lee.
Chester leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Doris J. Hatchett; daughter, Shauna C. Hatchett; sisters, Sharon Oats (Glen), Del Smith (Charles); brother, Shirley Dixon (Helena); grandson, Dearon K. Amos; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Bones came to the end of his road on Sunday September 9, 2018. He made his transition from earth to eternity. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. The memories will last forever!
