Charles Edward Wade, age 85, of Columbus OH passed away February 15, 2016.
Charles was born to Millie Wade on August 24, 1930 in Henderson, KY. After leaving high school, he joined the military serving in the United States Air Force. A decorated airman, he served for over 23 years, ending his military career as a Technical Sergeant and chef for the officers’ club of the Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base near Columbus, Ohio.
After retiring from the military, Charles worked for the government as an account analyst.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Wade in 2001 and his daughter, Ann Alexander in 1997. Both were of Columbus OH.
He is survived by a son, James A. Wade (Gloria) of Orlando FL; a daughter, Doris J. Hatchett (Chester) of Henderson KY; one sister, Josephine Murray of Indianapolis IN; five grandchildren: Kourtney Wade of Florida, Charles A. Wade of Texas, Brian Alexander of Indiana, Christina Alexander of Ohio, and Shauna C. Hatchett of Kentucky; six great-grandchildren; caregivers, Michiko Roberts and Jevett Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11:00am at 7th Street Baptist Church in Henderson KY. Visitation will begin at 9:00am on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Mason Brothers Audubon Chapel in Henderson KY.
