Charles “Tickle” Soaper, age 85, of Henderson KY passed away at St. Vincent Rehabilitation Center in Evansville, IN on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. A native of Henderson, KY, he was born on August 27, 1932 to Keg and Katherine Soaper. He was preceded in death by his sons, Deon and Kevin Soaper.
Charles served in the military during the Korean War. He was a faithful and active member of Little Canaan Baptist Church where he served as a Senior Usher. Charles was a skilled painter and worked as a painter for the Henderson County Housing Authority. In addition, he was a long-time employee of Concord Cleaners and worked as a security guard for the Earle C. Clements Job Corp Center.
Charles is survived by his wife, Wanda Soaper; daughter, Rinesha Soaper; two sons, Dereke (Denise) Soaper and Antonio (Jayma) Gilbert; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many wonderful nieces and nephews and their families.
Services are Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Little Canaan Baptist Church in Henderson with visitation from 10:00am until service time. Burial in Fernwood Cemetery. Condolences may be left at
