Charles E. Hairlson, 70, passed away on June 29, 2022, at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born on April 24, 1952, in Henderson, KY to George and Claire B. Hairlson.
Charles graduated from Henderson City high school in 1971 where he played football and he attended Henderson Community College. He worked for Sonoco as a Quality Control Inspector, where he retired. He also worked at Holiday Inn as a Chef where he mastered his culinary skills.
Charles accepted Christ at an early age where he joined Trinity A.M.E. Zion and served as an Altar Boy. Later he joined New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Trustee and sang in the Mass Choir for thirty plus years. He also coached a church league women’s softball team.
In 1985, Charles joined in Holy Matrimony to Bertha L. Hawes. To this union two daughters were born, Mikesha S. and Brittany L. Hairlson.
He preceded in death by his parents and his three siblings: Phyllis Hairlson, Michael Hairlson, and Patrice Hairlson Price.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Bertha; his daughters: Mikesha and Brittany; three grandchildren: Jazzmine, Terrance Jr., and Josiah; three brothers: Rev. Donald L. (Theda) Owens, Gary E. (Shelitta) Hairlson, and Brian E. Hairlson; one sister,: Alicia M. (Carl) Garrett; one aunt: Carolyn (Nathaniel) Thompson of Detroit MI; two uncles: James Wallace (Gwen) Hatchett of Lathrup Village, MI and Paul (Willa) Hatchett of Bowling Green, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a chosen son, Edwin (Korsica) Little.
