Charles Thomas Burris

Charles Thomas Burris was born August 11, 1939 in Henderson, KY to the late John Francis Burris, Sr. and Sallie Mae Brooks Burris. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson.

Charles was a graduate of Douglas High School in Henderson. He retired from Breckinridge Job Corp in Morganfield after 37 years of service. He also worked at Community Methodist Hospital.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: John Burris, Jr., Lavelle Burrus, Maxie Starling; sister Carolyn Holiman.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one son: Charles Derek Burris (Pam) of Henderson; daughters: Clara Becky Burris (Tony) of Henderson, Christa Minor (Michael) of Evansville; brother William “Bill” Burris of Evansville; two sisters: Fannie Warren and Dorothy D.J. Burrus both of Evansville; six grandchildren: Carol, Zae’Shaun, Rahim, Kalia, Kya, Desiree; three great grandchildren: Nehemiah, Khalil, James; special niece: Amber Gilbert; and a host of nieces nephews, cousins, and friends.
