Catherine Louise Carter

Catherine “Cathy” Louise Carter, age 71, was born August 28, 1945 in Henderson County and departed this life on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 9:16pm at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

She joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. T. L. Adams. She was a very faithful member and a good worker. She served in many capacities: she was a member and secretary of the Usher Board; was a member and president of the Senior Choir; was Church Secretary; worked on the Finance Committee as well as the Kitchen Committee; was Corresponding Secretary of the Missionaries; and served as the custodian of the church.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel David Carter and Eula Frances Hairlson Carter; her son Dale; her brothers: John, Samuel, and James; and her sisters, Mamie and Nettie.

Survivors include two daughters: Jacquetta Cobb and Maria “Angie” Carter – both of Evansville IN; one son, Prentice of Evansville IN; three sisters: Francele, Martha, and Mary – all of Henderson KY; one brother, Sherman of Henderson KY; one uncle, Albert (Sylverine) Hairlson; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:00am at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Henderson KY. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel, 1001 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville IN with wake services Friday from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at New Jerusalem church in Henderson.
