Catherine L. Brown, 84, transitioned from earth to her heavenly home on April 8, 2020 at the Henderson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Macon, GA to the late Joseph H. and Minnie S. Warren.
Catherine valued education and went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Evansville. She was a Registered Nurse by education and training but worked for 14 years as the City Clerk of Corydon, KY.
Catherine was a very active member of her church, St. Paul Baptist Church in Corydon, where she was the pianist for more than 16 years. She was an intelligent, independent, and overall powerhouse of a woman who was admired by many. She was not only a faithful member of her church but she was an active and dedicated citizen of Corydon and Henderson. From 1999-2005, Catherine was a member of the Henderson Community College (HCC) Board of Directors. She was also a member of the Western Division of the General Conference of Free Will Baptists, Inc. Her many awards included: HCC Presidents Award for Diversity 2010, HCC Presidents Award 1999, HCC Board of Directors Service Award 2006, and the City of Corydon Distinguished Citizen Award 2001.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Wallace S. Brown, her son Joseph Grayer, her sister Viviana.
She leaves to cherish her memory and honor her life, nephews & nieces: Craig Butler (California), Alan Butler (Texas), Christel Davis (Georgia), and Princess Davis; sister-in-law: Martha Brown; and a host of church family and friends.
