Carolyn Yates

October 31, 1929 — September 15, 2018

Carolyn Yates, 88, passed from this earthly existence into God’s glory on September 15, 2018 at Henderson Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 31, 1929 in Sebree, KY to the late Willie Pledge Clay and Mattie Blanks. Carolyn professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of Seventh St. Baptist Church for more than 50 years under the leadership of Dr. Anthony Brooks.
Carolyn attended Douglas High School. Throughout her life, she was a domestic engineer, working for several families in the Henderson Community. She loved to cook for her family. She truly enjoyed watching television, especially PD Live and the Lifetime Channel.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands: Jimmie Lee Ware and Samuel Yates; sisters: Dorothy Blanks, and Betty Jean Bridges; brothers William Watson, Otis Blanks, Jr.; niece: Debra Jean Hasal; nephew: Eric Bridges.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory: niece & caregiver: Marvetta McGuire; niece: Daphine Hawes; nephews: Chris Bridges, Michael Higgins; John Crooks, Robin Crooks, and Fred Crooks who she cared for and loved as if they were her own; and a host of cousins and friends.
