Carol Renee Tolliver

Carol Renee (Towler) Tolliver of Alhambra CA passed away Monday June 29, 2015. Carol was born in Evansville, IN on June 9, 1957 to Joseph and Eleanor Towler. She accepted Christ at Ebenezer Church and was baptized in her early teens. She sang in the youth choir and was active in church activities. Carol attended Lincoln Elementary School and one of her passions was playing the Cello in the band. She was also a member of the girl scouts and 4 H club. At Bosse High School she excelled in the Business curriculum. Carol moved to Pasadena, CA where she was a member of First A.M.E church working in the Women’s Fellowship organization. She attended Pasadena City College shortly after arrival in Pasadena. She worked at California State University as head cashier in the cafeteria and as an Auditor for Citibank until her health began to fail. Carol loved to help in caring for her nieces, nephews and others. She had a passion for reading, movies, working puzzles and fishing. She was preceded in death by her father: Joseph H. Towler; husband: Rod Tolliver. She is survived by her Mother: Eleanor Towler, Pasadena, CA; Brothers: Joseph T. Towler (Diane), Evansville, IN; Douglas Towler (Donna), Conyers, GA; Dwight Towler (Dorian), Indianapolis, IN; Randall Towler, Phoenix, AZ; Darrell Towler, Long Beach, CA; Kenneth Towler, Los Angeles, CA; Sisters: LaDonna Towler, Monrovia, CA; Donita Towler, Alhambra, CA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of friends. Funeral service is Monday July 6, 2015 11:00 a.m. at Woods Valentine Mortuary Chapel, Pasadena, CA. Graveside Service Wednesday July 8, 2015 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Evansville, IN. R. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel in charge of local arrangements.
