Carol Jean Hazelwood

The Lord called Carol Hazelwood home to be with Him on December 24, 2021, while surrounded by her family. She was born to the late J.C. and Ruby Greer on March 25, 1945, in New Bern Tennessee. Carol confessed her faith to God at an early age and was an active member of New Race Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mother’s Board.
Carol was raised in Gary, IN and lived there until she moved to Evansville, IN in 1972 where she lived and worked in various positions. She began her Career at CAPE as a Head Start bus driver and later became employed at the TJ Maxx Distribution Center. She then went on to Hudson Valley Tree Factory from which she retired due to health reasons in 1997. Carol was a faithful member of the Order of the Eastern Star and held many positions throughout her illustrious time in the organization. Anyone who knew Carol was very aware of her enjoyment of Bingo, the casino, and spending time with her loving family.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband: Graham Hazelwood; two sisters: Wanda Greer and Essie McKenzie; three brothers: Jerome Greer, Richard Greer, and Albert Greer.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, two daughters: Carol McGuire of Jeffersonville, In, Phyllis (Jason) Williams of Evansville; one son: VaShone (Sheema) Rhodes of Dallas, TX; grandchildren: Chris & Gretchen Jennings, Marthea Barrett, Hermon & LeeAnn Collier, Donald McGuire, Larry & Jennifer Hay, Olajide & Brittaney Hay, London Whitlock, Calabria Rhodes, Braela Rhodes, Jason Williams, Santanna Williams, Devin Rhodes, Cameron Rhodes, Evan Rhodes; great-grandchildren: Azara Stewart, Amariyah Brown, Lydia Freels, Xavier Hay, Marshaun Jones, Drew Jennings, Tobias Hay, Maleigha Littles, Harper Hay, Dylan Jennings, Lennox Hay; one 0brother: Thomas A. (Judy) Greer of Dallas Tx.; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
