Carl Jermain Bailey

October 11, 1970 — February 11, 2023

Carl Jermain “Jamie” Bailey was born to LyTanya Janine Bailey and Maurice Reynolds (deceased) on October 11, 1970, in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He passed away on February 11, 2023. He was raised by his mother, and stepfather, James Butler, who he referred to as his dad and hero. He was also raised by his grandmother, Vern Nation whom he affectionately called mama, loving her dearly in Long Beach, California.

Jamie was educated in the Long Beach Unified School District and graduated from North High School in Evansville, Indiana. He later studied Criminal Justice at the ITT.

Jamie loved children and after graduating high school, he returned to Long Beach and began teaching in a Christian school located in Carson, California. A few years later, he moved to Detroit where he worked in various factories. Eventually, the family moved back to Evansville where he continued to do factory work until his relocation to Phoenix Arizona where he was a manager for a year. Everything Jamie did, was done to the best of his ability; the best he knew how to do. He wasn’t perfect, but he was a man of love and he will never be forgotten.

He loved music, making beats, and dancing. He loved hip-hop fashion (especially gym shoes) and had his way of dressing. However, his biggest interest was exploring the world of “Forensic Science”.

Jamie leaves behind to cherish his memories daughters: Anaiya Bailey and Kiara Armstead; sons: Khalil Bailey and Keyon Bailey; grandmother: Vern Nation; sisters: LaCuanda Bailey and LaRaysha Bailey; brother: James Bailey; aunts: LaVonya Rogers and Quil Nation; uncle: Austin Nation; cousins: LaKeema Bailey, Michael Norman, and Trevy Norman; stepchildren; and a host of cousins, family members, and friends.
