Candace Joyce Murphy was born August 2, 1990 to the late Gwendolyn Joyce Cottoner Sherman and Willis Murphy, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gwendolyn; her grandparents, Robert & Gertrude Cottoner and Will & Ann Murphy, Sr; and one aunt, Deloris Murphy.
Candace was born and raised in Madisonville KY where she attended and graduated from Madisonville North Hopkins High school in 2008. After graduation, Candace went on to study communications at the University of Louisville. Candace had a passion for music, dancing, fashion, hair and art. She enjoyed all of these things, but most of all, she loved being Peyton’s mom!
Candace accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Madisonville. There, she was a member of the youth and young adult choir and the dance praise team.
Candace departed this life at 3:00am on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in Louisville KY. She is survived by her daughter, Peyton A. Hambric; her father, Willis L. Murphy Jr.; her sister, Amy S. Sherman of Madisonville KY; four brothers: Donald R. Sherman of Madisonville KY, Tyslen J. Baker, Christopher M. (Tatiana) Spivey – all of Madisonville KY, and Jeremy L. Spivey of Dayton OH; two aunts: Faye (Curtis) Royster and Sheryl (Freddie) Stafford of Madisonville KY; six uncles: Rev. Robert (Jonell) Cotttoner of Earlington KY, Arlis W. (Mickey) Cottoner, James R. (Delma) Cottoner – both of Louisville KY; Roger J. Cottoner of Madisonville; Brian (Venita) Murphy of Providence KY; and Troy Murphy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
