Mr. Bruce DuWan Bass, born December 20, 1963, to George Augusta Bass and Jean Hardin Bass in Madisonville, KY, peacefully went to rest with the Lord on March 17, 2025. Bruce was a graduate of Madisonville North Hopkins High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served in Germany. Upon returning home, he married his first wife, Jeanne, in Lawton, Oklahoma, and together they were blessed with two children, Resha and Dominick.
Bruce later joined the United States Reserves and was transferred to Albuquerque, New Mexico. After leaving the reserves, he transitioned to the civilian workforce. He eventually married Linda Pickett, who had a daughter, Lyric, whom Bruce embraced as his own.
Bruce was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanne Bass; his second wife, Linda Bass; his father, George "Dedo" Bass; and several aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Mrs. Jean H. Bass; son Dominick D. Bass of Lawton, OK; daughter Resha J. Stevenson (Joshua) of Virginia Beach, VA; and stepdaughter Lyric Pickett of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by his aunt, Frances Bass of Chicago, IL; siblings Craig A. Bass (Jan) of Lakeland, FL; Stenovia Land Martin McCray of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Andre' Bass, Mary Bass, and Valveta E. White, all of Madisonville, KY; as well as five grandchildren, Adrianna, Raya, and Kameron Bass, Brielle Stevenson, and Violet Pickett. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survives Bruce.
